Sleep apnea diagnosis

The medical specialists working at the Ruysdael Clinics are experts on snoring and sleep apnea. They will take all the time to listen to the issues you are experiencing and to advise you on your sleeping problems.

If you have a referral from your general practitioner or another medical specialist, you can make an appointment at the Ruysdael Clinics. As a first step, an intake will take place in the Ruysdael Clinics. During the intake, you start with a meeting with the ENT doctor about your complaints. The doctor also extensively examines your mouth and pharynx. Next step for most patients is to monitor their sleep during one night. The Ruysdael Clinics offers a service where sleep research takes place at your home. You do not have to sleep in a hospital overnight. We are convinced this is much more convenient and easier for you to fit into your agenda. In addition, we take the view that the outcome of a sleep study that is done at home is much more reliable than one done in an unknown environment such as a hospital.

After your visit to the Ruysdael Clinics you will be contacted to make an appointment to schedule the sleep monitoring. The equipment for sleep research is brought to your home in the evening and set up. The next morning it is picked up again.

About a week later, the results of the sleep monitoring can be shared with you. The ENT doctor will draw up a treatment plan for you. In a next appointment the doctor will discuss the outcome of the sleep monitoring and explain the advised treatment plan. This appointment can be done by phone or in person, whichever suits you best.
